Becoming a Medical Doctor

I have always had an admiration for medicine and a passion for research. My mother has been a great source of inspiration to me. As a nurse, I have watched how she takes great care of her patients. Everyone who knows my mother speaks very highly of her. With the challenges that come with raising my sister and I as a single mother, she has continued to maintain a quality work ethic. Although I had love for medicine, it was financially difficult making that dream a reality, until my sister told me about RGE Foundation.

Today's read for you is from a beautiful and brilliant 17 year old. We had the privilege of meeting her during her final year of middle. She had considered committing suicide when someone in her neighborhood told her about our scholarship program and encouraged her to apply.

My Undergraduate Milestone

I am Gaelle Tiku, a 2021 graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Buea. I was told about RGE Foundation by a friend of my sister who knew about our financial challenges. Being a scholar at the time, she encouraged me to apply for the scholarship program during my second year of college. Through the scholarship award, I was able to complete my Bachelors Degree in time.
